Over the years I've heard all manner of comments about people that are perceived as "conspiracy theorists." The prostitute press and the minions of Fedgov tell us that such people are wackos; they are paranoid; they have a warped view of the world, etc. We have thus been duly admonished by those people that are still crass enough to refer to themselves as the "news media" (when they are, in reality, the ministry of propaganda) that we should not even consider anything those "conspiracy" types have to say. Fedgov tells us that all these people rant about are black helicopters and Ruby Ridge and those FEMA concentration camps and all the rest. The "news" media tells us what a weird bunch they all are--why anyone with any sense just knows that conspiracies don't exist except in the befuddled minds of brain-dead right-wingers. The fact that people from certain One World government groups such as the Council on Foreign Relations have been insinuated into the administrations of every president since Woodrow Wilson is nothing but pure coincidence. Every reasonable person should know that. The fact that FDR's State Department was packed with Communists was only an unfortunate accident, nothing more. The fact that we now have a president who has more Marxist connections than you can shake a stick at is something that "just happened"--no prior planning to it at all. After all, every "resonable" person knows that accidents will happen.

So, if we continue to follow the ministry of propaganda (excuse me, I meant the media), down the garden path, we will be forced to conclude that all who believe in conspiracies are just plain nuts--right? We might ask the media pundits and various talking heads if that definition includes former president "Slick Willie" Clinton and his wife, the current Secretary of State. They have both ranted long and loud about "the vast right-wing conspiracy."

On September 27th formed president Slick Willie commented, according to http://news.aol.com that such a conspiracy does, indeed, exist. The article I read noted: "Bill Clinton says a vast, right-wing conspiracy that once targeted him is now focusing on President Barack Obama. Clinton was asked on 'Meet the Press' whether the conspiracy that supposedly went after him ten years ago now is still there. He replied: "You bet. Sure it is. It's not as strong as it was because America has changed demographically. But it's as virulent as it was." I wonder--does this make Slick Willie a nut case, along with his wife, because they believe in this "vast right-wing conspiracy?" Are we supposed to believe that this right-wing conspiracy that was supposedly against him ten years ago has been sitting around for a decade just waiting for the great Obamunist to come onto the scene so they could conspire further? Are we supposed to believe that, for the past decade there has been this fantastic, fairy-tale rightist conspiracy just waiting for Obama to show up? Well, according to the ministry of propaganda (there I go again, I mean the media) everybody knows that there's a right-wing conspirator hiding out under every bed and behind every door. You gotta watch out for those right-wing nuts! Right-wing conspiracies are okay with the media. They have no problem believing in them. Maybe that makes them nuts, too!

By that same token, everybody should know, according to this same nutty media, that left-wing conspiracies are simply non-existent. Why it would never occur to those on the "progressive" left to ever conspire to do anything. Their virtue and integrity are just too pure for them to even consider such a thing. For a shining example of their pristine virtue just look at the recent ACORN exposures. They are a perfect example of where the left is really coming from.

My personal thought on conspiracies is that they do exist. And there are many more on the left than on the right. Oh, I realize that statement puts me at odds with the political correctness of our vaunted media. A thousand pardons!

That being said, do I believe these conspiracies are strong enough to control the world? Some folks do. I know that the people behind them seek to do such, but are they strong enough to pull it off?  In the final analysis, they will only be able to accomplish what the Lord allows them to, nothing more. God is still sovereign and they are not--though they'd like to be and they'd like us to think they are. Even though they really want to usurp God's place, it ain't gonna happen. Psalm 2 is pretty explicit on that point.

Does that mean we ignore them if we are aware of their evil machinations? Do we just shrug our shoulders and say "Oh well, I guess that's how it is"? I don't think so. Ephesians 5:11 deals with this. The unfruitful works of darkness are to be exposed and brought to light, and opposed wherever possible. One duty of Christians is to shine the light of truth into the darkness because conspiratorial men and women love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil. It just might be that more Christians need to wake up and start doing a little of this as the Holy Spirit gives them the wisdom. Christians need to be aware of various conspiracies and to oppose them, but they do not need to fear them. In the end our Lord will triumph, though there may be times when He uses us as His means to do that. We should be aware and alert enough so that we can be used in that capacity if He so desires.
