By now most everyone should be aware that Comrade Nancy Pelosi is among the ruling queens of the Democratic Socialists of America. These are folks that look down their noses at the concept of private property.
These are the folks that prattle long and loud about the “classless society” where we are all equals and where we all share all things in common, where no one has anymore than anyone else. It all sounds so noble, so commendable and virtuous, and so “classless”. Redistribution of the wealth, a chicken in every pot, and all that bovine fertilizer that socialists just love to spread around to fool people who actually think the socialists are telling them the truth.
However, for some reason, in real life, it doesn’t quite seem to work out that way. Somehow, for Comrade Pelosi, some of the animals on the farm are much more equal than the rest.
For instance, an article of http://www.judicialwatch.org recently disclosed Pelosi’s travel history as she goes back and forth from Sodom on the Potomac to her home district in Commiefornia. The Judicial Watch article said: “Last year Judicial Watch made big news by exposing Nancy Pelosi’s boorish demands for military travel. According to the internal DOD correspondence we uncovered the Speaker has been treating the U.S. Air Force as her own personal airline. And not only was her staff demanding, arrogant and rude, but the Speaker cost taxpayers a lot of money by making last minute cancellations and changes to the itinerary.” One might be tempted to wonder why Comrade Pelosi, that great socialist leveler, can’t be content to travel back and forth on a commercial airliner like the rest of us “great unwashed.” After all, wouldn’t that stress her commonality with “the people?” Suffice it to say that Pelosi considers herself too important for such foolishness.
It seems that Judicial Watch obtained a batch of documents regarding this through the Freedom of Information Act, which revealed that the cost to the Air Force for toting Pelosi and her friends and relations around was (hold onto your seatbelts, folks) $2,100,744.59 for a two-year period. Suffice it to say she could have flown first class for considerably less. Included in that were “in-flight expenses, including food and alcohol (Lots and lots of alcohol).” The tab for those in-flight expenses was $101,429.14.
The Judicial Watch article notes: “If you have a moment take a look at the documents for yourself. And pay close attention to the receipts, noting the large quantities of food and alcohol purchased at taxpayer expense. Doesn’t it seem as if the Speaker’s congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else?” And at taxpayer expense too! We’re all paying for Pelosi’s goodies and booze so she and her good buddies can cavort around the country while they are trying to shove Obama’s Marxist health care plan down our throats. Somehow, this doesn’t strike me as being the hallmark of the socialist “classless society” that they all tell us they are trying to initiate for us (but not for themselves--they are above all that). After all, it’s they who have been entrusted to lead the rest of us down the road to Marxist utopia and so they, as the visionary prophets of a glorious socialist future, should be entitled to a little more (quite a little more) than the rest of us, shouldn’t they? Apparently Pelosi thinks she should.
It’s about time people woke up and saw all forms of socialism for what they really are--power grabs and money grabs--it’s all about money and power for these people, and Pelosi is charging at the head of the socialist pack. Excuse me, I mean she is flying at the head of the socialist pack--and the taxpayers are paying big bucks for her air fare!
