Since I am retired I have many options with my time.  I plan to spend the next five months, until the election, monitoring the candidates and trying to interpret what is said and what is not said.  I might even attempt to do a little prodding.  Knowing that readers are pushed,  I intend to keep each message short and devoted to a single subject.

Today's subject. as mentioned above, is "Did the Real Obama Finally Show Up?"

I saw Mr. O on TV this morning, at a live press conference, attempting to explain some of the questionable connections between the Chairman (of his VP search team) and Countryside which has become the dedicated fall guy for the Subprime fiasco.  It wasn't that he failed miserably that caught my attention, but how poorly he performed when talking extemporaneously.  He just could not handle the questions (possibly because he did not have a good answer). He had no opportunity to smile over about 5 minutes.  He had no opportunity to switch the questioning to Mc Cain.  He was obviously in trouble.  He looked like a deer caught in a car's headlights  Gone were the oratory and the teleprompters of the glory days of the 2004 Democratic Convention or his (MLK type) speech in Philadelphia.

Maybe, just maybe, the Mc Cain suggestion for ten plain old one-on-one discussions will give him an opportunity to recover from this very unflattering performance.  We'll just have to wait-- unless there is another press conference.
