For a candidate who is so bright and has over $100 million of campaign money to spend on the best advisors, Barack Obama just does not understand the Catholics in America.  Why?  I haven't a clue.

Early on in his campaign he organized a Catholic Advisory Group made up of disaffected Catholics which subsequently had to be quietly disbanded because the credentials of the members were so discredited.

Now he picks Joe Biden, a Catholic, who is pro-abortion.  In my opinion it would have been better received by Catholics if it were someone of a different religion with the same views.  Why attempt to shove it down the throats of Catholics and then ask for their votes in November?  I haven't got a clue.

In addition, in Denver there is a Catholic Archbishop who was deliberately snubbed for any role in this "very obvious pro religion attitude" of Obama which is translated into the program of this Convention.  Why?  I haven't a clue.

I do not believe that Catholics deserve any more favorable treatment than any other group.  But Bush got 52% of the Catholic vote last time.  Of registered voters the number is 26% overall.

Maybe he needs an accountant in addition to his political strategists.

NB.  Maybe it goes deeper than just the Catholics. The early rantings of Jeremiah Wright, and others associated with him in Chicago, have shown a dangerous and continuing aspect of Obama's mindset which has never successfully been rejected by him to my satisfaction.
