All the aspects of being a healthy cyclist is amazing to me.

I learned something from an article I read recently that chances are good that I may have a dietary deficiency that’s harming my health, hampering my recovery from exercise, and even holding me back on my bike.

According to the article, even taking multi vitamins and getting the recommended daily allowanace of vitamins and minerals, I may not be getting enough Omega 3 fatty acids (originally called vitamin E.)

Apparently our bodies can’t make or store this stuff so we have to have to include it in our diet daily. Omega-6 is easier to find…it is in vegetable oil s, and in most processed foods.  Omega-3 is not as easy to come by. You’ll find it in small doses of nuts, and some plants, but the best source is fish.

We should make a concentrated effort to eat fish several times a week.  And even then, we may not get enough. I discussed this with my doctor who as recommended that I take a Fish Oil Supplement of at least 1200 mg. daily.

I want to be ready to ride, have fun riding, and feel good after the ride.  Nothing fishy about that!  Hope you feel the same.
