Why ride a bike? Well, riding a bike offers health benefits like better cardiovascular fitness and increased strength, as well as improved balance, flexibility, endurance and stamina.
You can ride a bike at any age from childhood all the way through the senior years. Cycling isn’t as hard on the knees as other types of exercise. Being out on your bike is just flat-out fun. The more time you spend on two wheels, the harder it is to take yourself too seriously.
Have you ever seen anybody jogging with a smile on their face? You can smile when riding! Riding can be a real stress-releaser, and whether you’re riding for pleasure of for a specific purpose, you’ll arrive feeling happier about the world and about yourself.
When you’re out on your bike you are putting one less car on the road, and still getting to where you want to go with no noise that a car generates. From my bike I can wave to a neighbor, and smell someone cooking on their grill. Operating a bicycle does not harm the environment! There is no polluting exhaust released, no oil or gas consumed.
There is definite convenience when riding a bike, such as close in parking for example. Though cars certainly make better time on long trips, you can travel as quickly or even faster using your bike for many short trips. You’ve been to local festivals and concerts.
Going on a bike is a perfect solution. Get in and out quickly. You don’t have to park blocks away or go early, and you can avoid the traffic on the way out.
We all know what it costs to fill our tanks. Gas, Oil and maintenance on your car can cost between 20 and 30 cents per mile depending on your vehicle. Using your bike more can obviously save you money.
