When considering legal advise, is it "time to look at the situation" in Christiansburg, too?

Radford just hired a new attorney, choosing a lifelong resident from four bids submitted for consideration.

When was the last time Christiansburg Town Council performed a review of their legal services?

This is a decision Council makes, as an appointment during annual organizational meetings each September.  Is there anything saying they can't make a change, anytime they wish?

Thinking about how the Town Charter and Town Code are reportedly outdated, numerous lawsuits involving the town (generally sealed), a public-private partnership that shifted requests for a community pool into a major sports venue, and problems with interpretation of FOIA laws -- one could surmise Council should review the current arrangement.

When you look at the recent firestorm created by exiting Lance Terpenny's "severance" deal (even though this employee was another appointee and had no contract), and a cast of revolving legal partners from meeting to meeting who generally don't appear prepared to address items on now-published agendas -- one could surmise Council should review the current arrangement.

Given Christiansburg is the county seat (home of court services), there's an abundance of attorneys at the doorstep of Town Hall.  Given Town Council has budgeted roughly $50,000/year in the past and expended from $28,000 to $33,000 over the past two years -- one could surmise Council could drum up some competitive bids for consideration.

Council might also want to consider having a legal beagle present during Planning Commission meetings, even if "'We're not _______________."
