I hope this blog finds all of you well. Have you ever found your self at a cross roads where you have done everything on your agenda and you’re looking for the next big challenge to face? That is how I felt this week-end as the officer team and I finished our final touch-ups before Winter Leadership Conference. Before I went in to our meeting I felt prepared and confident but upon entering I found myself nervous, apprehensive, and stressed for the week to come. After re-doing some of the activities in my workshop, finishing my props, and completing the typed version of our skit I have come to a stand still. A stand still in the fact that I still have a lot to do, but also that I have accomplished a lot. In one of the officer exercises that we did this past week called habitudes I learned that it is o.k. to “feed your self” which in simple terms means it’s ok to take a break and do something that takes away some of your stress. Some of the things that I have done today is blog, read, jogged, and had lunch with my sister after a long day of class. I have scheduled chapter meetings today and had three classes so I didn’t take the whole day off entirely (I did however do my priorities first) but I did things that were out of the normal and very stress relieving for me. If you’re someone who needs to relieve some stress here are some things you could do to accomplish that:
Ø Athletics/Sport
Ø Read/Write
Ø Seclusion
Ø Find a hobby
Ø Hang out with a friend
Ø Ect.
There are many more things that you can do to “feed your self” that’s not in the list above. Take a few days off to do what you want to do: not what you have to do. Understand your boundaries though and you should be on your way to a life with not so much stress. I hope my blog helped some one for the day and one again finds everyone well.
With Faith, Hope, and Love,
Danielle
