Since I am still in high school I competed in Career Development Events at WVU. And for anyone who wants to be a state officer while they are in high school let me mention that it is incredibly difficult to have a great CDE team, an eight hour work day, school, and keep up with state officer duties. Needless to say I wasn't the highest scorer on my team, nor did my team win. However, this was a great learning experience for me. Everyone always preaches it should be about quality not quanity. This is most definitely true, I tried to be alright at all these things and be on all these teams, have a job and keep up with my school work. It may be possible to be mediocre at all these things at once, but it is time consuming and lacks in the fun department.
The moral of this entry, do what you like. But make sure you don't try everything at once, not only will you not like it, it is hard to give a million things the dedication they all deserve.
