I want to start out by saying, WLC was great!!!!! The members were full of energy and made the weekend go so well. I hope that all of the members are using what they learned when they “fueled up” and have “blasted off” to their home chapters.

And speaking of home chapters, I hope that you all still have the same energy from WLC for FFA week. This is our time to show our schools and communities what FFA is all about. FFA week activities can show school faculty and administrators, community supporters, and business people what an FFA chapter does and to educate them about FFA and American agriculture. It is also a chance to recruit new members by showing them what all they can do in FFA.

This will be a busy week for me as well. Along with school work, which seems to pile up every day, I will be making a couple of stops at chapters in my region. I will be at James Monroe High School on Thursday to visit with them. I am very excited to finally get to visit them after previous times did not work out. On Friday, I will be at my home chapter, Greenbrier East, where they will be holding a Tractorcade. The students will be driving tractors from Wal-Mart through downtown Lewisburg on the way to Greenbrier East. Last year was the first year for this event and the community response was great. I am so excited to be a part of it again.

I hope that each of you has a great FFA week and I am looking forward to hearing about the events you and your chapters held to celebrate. Don’t forget to send us pictures!!!!!!

Until next time,

Leah
