Sometimes we are so busy in our day to day lives that we really don’t stop to think. We have all these wonderful things and amazing people around us. And sometimes we really don’t stop to think about all of these great things. We don’t stop to appreciate the blessings in our life.
And I know, everyone says that you should stop and think about the things to be thankful for in your life this time of year. But I would encourage you to do a little more than that. I don’t want you to think just during that one time of year, I want to encourage you to stop every day, just for a moment, and remind yourself of all the great things you have to be thankful for in your life.
I would like to take this time to share some things that I am thankful for everyday. Since I have been gone from home I have become even more thankful for my family than ever. They are always there for me and support me in everything I do. I know that without them I wouldn’t be the person I am today. And my friends… wow!!!! My true friends who have stuck with me through it all. They are so amazing. I was so afraid that the distance that going to college was putting between us would make our friendships disappear. But it seemed to do the opposite. We are closer than ever and I know you will always be there for me. I love each and every one of you guys. And to my newest group of friends, my fellow state officers, I love you ALL. Thank you all for helping me get through everything. I am also thankful to you, the members, for giving me this amazing opportunity to serve you.
I have been blessed with so many things in my life. But the thing I am most thankful for is life itself. Every day that we wake up is a blessing and an opportunity for us to do something amazing. I know some days can be tough and there are times we all want to give up. But even the bad days are blessings in disguise. Every day is a day for you to grow and learn, even if you are learning from your mistakes.
So I would like for you all to think about the things that you are thankful for. And not just today, or on Thanksgiving or Christmas, but every day, count your blessings and appreciate all the things in your life. Be thankful.
So until the next time,
Leah
