Hi Girls and Guys,

Winter Leadership Conference was a Fueling Up weekend. Winter Leadership Conference was full with 38 chapters, which were made up of 428 members, advisors, and guests. The conference started off with an exciting skit filled with aliens, stars, a secret agent woman, a farmer, a professor, and an astronaut. After the fun filled skit, each chapter created a Mission Patch that they would take back to their chapters. The evening finished with regional dance competition. The next day started off with going to different workshops that the state officers put on. Derek’s was about Myths of being a State Officer. James talked about different SAEP. Caleb explained the numerous agriculture related careers. Erik showed how important the community is to your FFA chapter. Allyson showed the proper etiquette of eating and packing. Leah illustrated the different scholarships that are out there. Khrystian guided members to plan their FFA careers. Danielle showed members how to make committees work. Finally I enlightened members how many activities that they could do during National FFA Week. Following all of the great workshops; the regional quiz bowl took place. The night session started with opening ceremony and then guest speaker, Matt Lohr. Mr. Lohr entertained the members with jokes and skits, but had a wonder message in his speech that enlightened the members. The members finished off the night with a bang. A DANCE….. Star Lab…. And OCTOBER SKY!!! The weekend ended with a closing skit and a gift given to every student, advisor, and guest.

For me this weekend was exhausting, but well worth it. I had the best time hanging out with you. I hope you all learned a lot, because I learned a lot from you. Meeting you is why I wanted to be a State Officer. It is the best thing!! I enjoy meeting and getting to know you all so much. Thanks for coming to WLC; you don’t knowhow much it meant to me to meet you.

Love Always,
Emma
