A couple of weeks ago, Allyson and myself had the privilege of going to Delaware for their convention. This was an amazing experience and we got to see pretty much the whole state. The week started off with a 7 hour drive from my house to Lewes DE. On the way we supported a local business and got lost once.
Once we got to our destination we were met by our friends Samantha Burton and Samantha Steele, both Delaware state officers who happen to be cousins. That evening we settled in at Samantha Burton's house and they took us out and showed us around Lewes and surrounding towns. We were also treated with dinner at a local seafood restaurant. Here Lori, another officer, joined us.
The next day Samantha Burton's mom fixed us breakfast and Samantha Steele brought us Grotto's pizza for lunch. That even we headed 2 hours north to Newark for the convention. Here we presented for workshops and got the convention hall pumped us for the sessions. This year Delaware membership reached once of it's highest levels with about 2,700 members. At convention we met about 400 of these enthusiastic students. Unlike our convention, their's only lasts two days.
Convention finally ended with the election of the new officers. 3 of the officers were repeats and two of them were new. That night we stayed at a new officer's house and woke up at three the next morning to go to DC
By 10:30 friday morning, we had already been through Delaware, Maryland and D.C. visiting the White House, the White House visitor center, and walked around the Washington Monument and the reflecting pool. The visit was amazing and we met so many new people I would be afraid to start naming them all. A big thank you goes out to the Delaware state officers and their families for inviting us and putting us up for the week.

Ps. Everyone should try scrapple at least once, we did.
