Sorry I have not been keeping up with my blog like I should, school has swamped me, ecspecially since I took a week off to go to Convention. But not to much has happened since the last time I wrote, well let me take that back. A few events have taken place during the past month but, I'll try to keep it short and sweeet. On October 3rd (wow, it has been a month) the officer team and I travelled to Buchannon to the Farm Bureau state office. We were welcomed by Tanya Nickerson and then Charlie Wilfong (Farm Bureau President) spoke to us on contemporary issues in West Virginia Agriculture. Six speakers came to talk to us that day including, Cinda Francis from the forestry association, Dave Workman extension agent in hardy county, Tracy Fitzsimmons from the WVDA, Dwayne O'dell from the WVDA, Gary Rapking extensoin agent from Upsher County, and then Tanya Nickerson said some closing remarks. The whole day was fun and informative, we really did learn alot.
Following the visit, Caleb and Allison came to my house for dinner and to go haunted housing. The plan was to visit three haunted houses aroun my county. After dinner Caleb travelled back to Montgomery, so Allyson and myself went out on our own. Well to make a very long story short, we ended up lost way back in the woods in the middle of nowhere. We were pretty much on a four-wheeler trail in my little car that is very low to the ground. We made it out alright, just a few scratch marks on the bottom and a lost foglight. We made friends with a few strangers and at somepoints I think we even heard banjos playing. In the end we made it to two houses and had a great time.
Two weeks ago I found myself lost again. This time in the big city of INDY. I looked around and all I could see were blue jackets ( and it didn't help that I'm not very tall). I was walking down FFA Way with 50,000 ffa member. All week everywhere you looked you saw blue jackets, and everyone was in such a good mood and very excited. As officers, our responsiblity at convention was to represent the state of West Virginia as delegates. Some big descisions were made this year and if you would like to know more about them, just let me know or go to ffa.org
The theme this year is Step up and Stand Out. I believe this has been the theme for WV for the past 80 years. Everywhere you look you see our members stepping up and standing out in everything we do. I hope we can continue this tradition throughout this year and in the years to come.
Keep checking in for new blogs because I am going to start doing a better job at doing them. And as always, if you need anything, just let know.
LIVING to SERVE you
