Entry 5 of 9

Well... this week has been a real test of my ability. 6 finals! My activities during these past two weeks have consisted of sitting in front of a computer or in front of books. When it came time to take the tests, I started to think about how important they are, and how much they would affect my grade. That is when I start to get worried and start thinking about all I have to do for school, work, home, and FFA. Then my mind starts to wonder, I get stressed even more, then before you know it the time is almost up. That makes me even more stressed and I start to rush and start making little mistakes. When everything is said and done, I do not feel very confident with my exams, and that will worry me until I get my results back.
Here are some tips I have discovered this week to help you in stressful situations.
1.) When you study, study with a friend. I have spent the majority of my time at a friends house working with her to try to pass our classes.
2.) Take breaks often to let you mind settle.
3.) Get away from everything distracting (TV, cell phone, computer), even if it means packing up all of your stuff and going to the library.
4.) When you study or are working on something, do not put it off until a day or two before.
5.) Keep your mind on the goal and don't lose sight of it.
6.) Whenever you finish your project, do something fun and relieving. Tomorrow I am going skiing with a good group of friends and just taking the whole day for myself.

I know these are not certified tips, and no Dr. wrote them, but this is what I have found to help me in tough and stressful times. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and will have a great Christmas. Now that finals are out of the way, I hope to update my blog more often. Tell all of your friends to check out our blogs also.

Take care,

Derek
