Getting ready for our fall meeting was a blast. I’m pretty sure that both Nick and I didn’t finish packing until right up before we left, but that’s ok because we procrastinators will unite (tomorrow). The drive to Braxton County seemed awfully long, especially since Nick sang to the radio the whole time. I’m just joking, he has a lovely voice. When we arrived in Braxton we were surprised to find that we were not the last ones to arrive. When everyone arrived we jumped straight into our first meeting and began putting our finishing touches on our workshop.
I was working with Hillary and Nick. We made a great team except for the fact that we kept getting distracted “Ooooh Shiny”. Of course we were the very first one to present the next morning. Just our luck!! Wrong, there was no luck to it. We had made a powerpoint but we couldn’t view it. First mistake: not having a backup plan. So we just winged it. Mr. Skidmore said we did just fine, but the look in Mr. Hughes’s eye told me that I was in trouble. Well…not actually in trouble, but it was a good learning experience that’s for sure. After that things ran more smoothly. Mr. Skidmore and the chapter officers held a pizza party for us that we loved (Hint Hint). Overall we learned more about our strengths and weaknesses when it came to presenting a workshop.
That evening we met again and started planning WLC. You guys are going to be surprised. I’m so excited it’s going to be hard to keep it a secret. So to change the topic so I don’t blab… how is everyone doing with CDEs. Is anyone nervous or excited? I know I was this time last year. What team are you on or what team do you want to try next year? If you feel like sharing or you just want someone to talk to leave me a comment of email me. My email address is enporter32@yahoo.com or look me up on facebook.
