guess what guys? i won reserve grand champion market lamb at my county agriculture fair and the ewe sold for 5.50$ a pound. i'm pretty sure that is a clay county record!!! i am definetely excited about that but i am even more excited because I talk to this lady that recognized my jacket and struck up a conversation with me about the FFA.
she asked me if i was in the future farmers of america and i proceeded to tell her that it was called something else these days and she told me all about her sweetheart jacket that she got back in 1959. i just thought it was great to get to talk to people in my community, knowing they supported me through this office and learn a little bit more history time after time! mr. bennett from mineral county was present to judge or livestock at the fair and he did an excellent job. on behalf of the clay county agriculture fair, we thank him sincerely!
my best friend sara mccune was ag fair queen this year, i was definetely proud of her! i won back in 2007, it truly is a great honor to have. i was also awarded a 590.00$ scholarship from the agriculture fair which will definetely help me in college. also, i was awarded two scholarships one from the Elk Conservation District and one from the WV Association of Conservation Districts. i thank these contributors so much.....it will definetely help me to the fullest.
now, i am looking forward to spending alot more time with my officer team and getting to know them even better then what i already know! i am totally ready for NLCSO! i can't wait to see you all and i can't wait til national convention. i'm definetely looking into the future. well, i just wanted to share my wonderful weekend with all of you and give a few shout outs of thanks and congrats.
