Four months ago, Ebay
became part of my daily life. I opened QCatsBiz
, my Ebay store, on August 29, 2008. I wanted to learn how to sell on the Internet and Ebay seemed to be a good place to start. I consider these first six months to be my "internship" phase. I'm a student of those who have come before and are still selling strong and those who, like me, are learning as they go.
While Ebay provides a wealth of information, tutorials, guides, and forums, including the Ebay University Learning Center
, I've learned the most from other sellers and from being a shopper myself. When I make a purchase and the seller goes well beyond the "norm" either in level and/or frequency of contact, or takes extra care in packaging the shipment, I make a note about what I liked and file it away in file folder labeled "Good Ebayers." (OldWillKnottScales
is one such example and he's in my file!)Ebay
has system driven triggers or features that make it easy for the seller to be good. It's those who take advantage of these features that make the buyer's experience extra special and, needless to say, stands a better chance of driving repeat business.
More lessons learned to come...
